This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Poise for IZEA . All opinions are 100% mine. When I hear the phrase " I just peed a little bit ", I think of uproarious laughter at a funny story, a TV show or a movie; or at least I used to. After my pregnancy with my son over 16 years ago I felt like bladder leakage was natural for a short period of time afterwards. It went away by itself. What if it doesn't go away or if it occurs later in life, like NOW ? I'm 36. With all my joint pain, and now my bladder leakage when I cough or sneeze, I sometimes struggle with calling myself ONLY 36 versus 36, leaving the ONLY part old because I feel like my body just acts OLD . The truth of the matter is, bladder leakage, especially Stress Urinary Incontinence , doesn't discriminate by age. To be honest, when I was first approached to share my story with the ENTIRE world ( all 5,000 or so of you that read my blog ), I thought " that's not something I wan...

Summer is here and with it comes the risk of sunburn. While protecting your skin with sunscreen is important, sometimes sunburns happen despite our best efforts. When they do, it can be helpful to have natural remedies on hand for relief. Essential oils are a great option for providing sunburn relief. One popular natural remedy for sunburn is apple cider vinegar. Not only does it provide a cooling sensation on the skin, but it also helps to restore the skin's pH balance. To use, simply dilute one part apple cider vinegar with four parts water and apply to the affected area with a cotton ball or spray bottle. Another effective essential oil for sunburn relief is lavender. Known for its soothing properties, lavender oil can help to reduce inflammation and redness caused by sunburn. To use, mix a few drops of lavender oil with a carrier oil such as coconut oil and apply to the affected area. Peppermint essential oil is another great option for sunburn relief. Its cooling properties...
My Son Didn't Wreck My Body, I Did!
I hear Moms talk about accepting their bodies as a result of having children quite often (baby weight) . In fact, I hear people use the same reasoning with me when I'm less accepting of my body ( i.e. when we, women/moms, call ourselves FAT ). The thing is, MY body isn't the way it is because of my son and I'm not just gonna be OKAY with it. We all have a different perception of a " wrecked body ". To be quite honest, I'm not looking at yours. I don't even care. I'm so fixated on how I "feel", not how I feel people perceive me, but how I feel in my clothes (or out of them) ...that the way you think I feel about how you look is just a figment of your imagination . Let's revert back a bit. Before I got pregnant with my son ( August 1998 ), I was just over 100 lbs. I might have peaked at 105 lbs. on a "bad" day / week / month. 9 months later I stepped on the scale, the day after my son's due date and I weighed 142 lbs....
