10 Breakfast Recipes Sure to Please Dad's Hunger

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, though I never eat it during the week and I'm too lazy to make it on the weekend. We used to pick up donuts and things from fast food or semi-fast food joints, but that just didn't satiate my taste buds. We tried Waffle House and Diners, but that became too expensive.

There is nothing like a home-cooked breakfast. I've recently had the pleasure of making my own ham, egg and cheese sandwiches on an english muffin since we moved into the house, but for Father's Day I figured I could do a little more for Travis on Father's Day (as an honorary soon-to-be Step Father) for being such a positive influence in Nicholas's life. He'll be off this year, so I'm definitely shooting for a breakfast in bed.

The hard part will be deciding which one of these 10 breakfast recipes to serve for Father's Day. As an anti-vegetarian, aka he hates vegetables, breakfast is actually one of the meals here I can sneak them in. I may not be able to swing the avocado, but most veggies can be masked by slicing, dicing and shredding them.

Skip the avocado and Travis would have no idea that Chili Breakfast Bowls are actually vegetarian. He just sees chili, some form of one of his faves...potatoes and eggs with cheese. He does like corn, so other than the avocado, the vegetables are hidden in this recipe.

This breakfast casserole recipe has the basic breakfast essentials: bacon, eggs and cheese, plus croissants. You could also use crescent rolls, but you'd have to make them first. You can easily swap things out to make a Vegetarian version of this recipe.

Believe it or not, Mr. Meat and Potatoes likes green peas. If only I could master the poached egg, I could make this Poached Eggs and Sweet Potato Hash recipe. I've tried making poached eggs a few times, but even the Gordon Ramsey videos haven't worked for me. The good news is, you can always make an over-easy egg in the frying pan.

The cast-iron skillet is your friend. I actually don't have one, but it's on my list. When I score a cast-iron skillet, this Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Grits Bake recipe is on my to-do list. It's like a breakfast pizza in a skillet! Lots of greens in this recipe from spinach to green onions and fresh herbs.

Pizza for breakfast, anyone? Yes, I'm still rising to adulthood. I still leave my pizza OUT versus putting the pizza box in the oven or bagging it in plastic zipper bags. This Hashbrown Breakfast Pizza with Kale Pesto is not meant to be saved for later! You will devour it in an instant.

Now this is a crafty way to show love. These Banana Bacon Cinnamon Rolls are extraordinary! The recipe turns cinnamon rolls into roses and combines a touch of Elvis and the bacon craze with LOVE!

Jill is right in my backyard. A resident of Metro Atlanta and mother of three sons, proud author of Wild Eats and Adorable Treats cook book, Jill is known for her annual Mancakes. She was even featured in Disney's Family Fun Magazine. This is definitely a fun way to engage your kids and treat your husband or Father to a Father's Day Breakfast.

I can't say that I've ever brought Mediterranean flair into my breakfasts, but the thought of fried egg, garlic, olives, pepperoncinis and sun-dried tomatoes on a roll, has my mouth-watering over this Mediterranean Breakfast Sandwich.

With just a few minutes on the stove top, this Sausage and Veggie Frittata recipe is mostly set it and forget it. Using a cast iron skillet, you brown the meat, then add the eggs and veggies and finish it up in the oven.

Katie made this with spinach, white onion, red bell pepper, cremini mushrooms, eggs and pork sausage from a local farm. You can always substitute with your favorite veggies.

This is not your average oatmeal. As outstanding as it is, the PB&J Oatmeal recipe has easy instructions so children of all ages can get involved in prepping a Father's Day breakfast for Dad.

You can use any kind of peanut butter or nut butter. For the "J", you can use any jelly, jam or preserves, substitute honey, maple syrup or even pureed fresh fruit.
